The National Cyber Security Agency, represented by the National Cyber Excellence Department, Monday said it has trained 15,000 Ministry of Education and Higher Education employees who joined the cybercrime prevention training program since its launch.

The training initiatives and programs aim to raise the efficiency of workers and specialists in the field of information technology (IT) and security in government agencies in the State of Qatar and raise awareness of the public employee without specialists in information systems. The National Agency for Cyber Security senses the importance of spreading a culture of security awareness among all segments of society to achieve its goals in maintaining, organizing national cyber security and promoting and protecting the vital interests of the state in the face of cyber threats.

For her part, National Cyber Excellence Department director Dalal Al Aqeedi said that the number of beneficiaries of the training program for the prevention of cybercrime from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education reached more than 15,000, so far. This included 591 trainees from school leaders, 10,175 trainees from teachers, and 2,638 trainees from administrators.

She explained that more than 12,000 trainees have passed the program out of the total of 15,000 trainees registered in the prevention of cybercrime training program.

In turn, the Director of Educational Training and Development Center at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Hissa Al Aali confirmed that the Ministry is keen on its employees' participation in the training program for the prevention of cybercrime, and to ensure that the percentage of achievement is high among those who joined the training program for the prevention of cybercrime from school leaders, teachers, and administrators.

She indicated that the Ministry has strengthened its internal policies in general and the Training and Educational Development Center in particular. The follow-up process carried out by the Training and Educational Development Center for trainees has contributed to raising the percentage of those passing the training program for the prevention of cybercrime. There are also measures taken to implement the program in public schools, she noted.

The National Cyber Security Agency seeks to enhance cybersecurity competencies at the national level through training and development in preparation for facing cyber-attacks effectively if they occur because each person is assigned a role to play to maintain the security and safety of the country and provide a secure digital environment.

The idea of the training program for the prevention of cybercrime was launched after testing 95 entities in the State of Qatar to know their capabilities and skills in the cyber field and ensure their ability to protect themselves from cyber-attacks.
