he Ministry of Labour, in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), organized a training course for the Ministry's inspectors, with the aim of qualifying them to obtain the International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH).

The organizing of this course came within the framework of the continuous and joint efforts between the Ministry and the ILO to enhance the safety and health of workers in the workplace, and to increase the efficiency of inspectors and their ability to identify risks in the work environment.

The training course lasted for two weeks, with the participation of about 18 inspectors of the Ministry of Labour, during which they were trained on many skills and requirements that must be implemented during their work in inspecting work sites and workers' housing.

It also addressed the duties of managing health and safety in the workplace, how health and safety management systems and risk management work, understanding people and processes, how to monitor and measure health and safety, and the risk assessment mechanism.

The trainees will conduct an international test to obtain the International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH), which is one of the important training courses for inspectors of the labour Inspection Department.

The Labour Inspection Department will implement and apply labour legislation, as well as periodic and sudden inspections of work sites and places of residence, in addition to educating the public about labour legislation, control and issuing of violations, issuing of warnings, and assertion that enterprises undertake preventive measures in the field of occupational health and safety.
