The Customs Department at Hamad International Airport (HIA) thwarted another attempt to smuggle prohibited tobacco products, the General Authority of Customs (GAC) said in a tweet.
Around 30kg of prohibited tobacco was seized by Customs officials after the substance was found hidden inside a passenger’s bag.
A seizure report was issued and the confiscated product was handed over to the authorities concerned, the GAC said.
A few days ago, the HIA Customs had foiled the smuggling of prohibited tobacco weighing 26.95kg.
