Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Qatar Chapter held a community outreach programme, benefiting distressed Filipino expatriates in the country, recently.
In collaboration with Philippine Overseas Labour Office – Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA), the programme was held at the POLO-OWWA shelter in Doha.
PICE Qatar 2022 president Rolan Nevado led the activity and remarked that the organisation's over 3,500 members continuously support the delivery of community outreach initiatives as a part of its community social responsibility.
According to PICE Qatar, labour attache Adam Musa and his team were grateful for the kind gifts and ongoing assistance from the Philippine Professional Organisation Qatar (PPOQ), notably for the PICE Qatar community support and response to the plight of the distressed ‘kababayans’.
Since PICE Qatar's founding, the organisation held annual programmes and quarterly activities called the ‘Community Outreach Programme for Distressed Kababayans’ to promote civil engineers' social responsibility and community involvement, which is one of PICE’s core values.
