The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), represented by the Department of Wildlife Protection, has announced the launch of an extensive cleanliness campaign at winter camping sites.
The campaign has been announced in co-ordination with the General Cleanliness Department at the Ministry of Municipality. and is aimed at removing all camping waste and occupancy after the end of the camping season.
This comes as part of the MoECC's efforts to preserve and protect Qatar's environment from pollution, it said in a statement.
The ministry said it will carry out inspection tours at camping sites in various regions of the country to ensure that all camping waste is removed.

 

Earlier, the ministry had announced the end of the 2021-2022 camping season on May 2, and given owners time until May 14 to remove their camps.
The MoECC commended the contribution of all authorities concerned in the country for the success of the camping season, led by the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Municipality, as well as other ministries and public and private institutions in addition to the relevant departments of the MoECC.
The ministry lauded them for their co-operation regarding the procedures and requirements for ensuring security, safety, health as well as the protection and preservation of the environment during the camping season.
