Herd owners Sunday morning started supplying production of subsidised sheep to market them for Eid al-Adha.
This comes as part of a joint initiative of the Ministry of Municipality, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Widam Food Company to encourage local sheep production and continue with government support for livestock breeders in the country.
The condition for accepting sheep is that these should be locally produced from certain designated breeds, should not be less than six months old, should not weigh below 35kg, and must be free from diseases and defects.
The supply will continue until the required number of sheep is provided.
