Acting charge d'affaires of the Qatari embassy in Malta Khalid Ali Abdullah Abel has praised the friendship ties between Qatar and Malta in various fields and their keenness to develop and strengthen them.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he said that the official visit of Maltese President George Vella to Qatar comes within the framework of the joint efforts made toward strengthening the friendship ties and supporting the bilateral relations to encompass all fields, especially after the remarkable development that has been made at the political, economic and cultural level during the recent years.
He said that the president's visit is anticipated to give a strong impetus to the good bilateral relations and contribute to opening new co-operation prospects to serve the joint interests and the future of these relations at all levels.
He said that the visit of the President of Malta to Qatar is the first one by to the region in the post-Covid-19 pandemic phase following the general elections in the Republic of Malta held in March.
He asserted that the president attaches great importance to the Qatari-Maltese relations and ways to support and develop them. (QNA)
