The Ministry of Municipality hosted the two-day second Waste Management Conference and Exhibition in partnership with Suhail Industrial Holding Group.
This partnership is one of many initiatives that both the ministry and Suhail Industrial Holding Group have delivered in recent years to facilitate and enhance efforts in sustainability, the company said in a press statement.
The event, which ended Tuesday, provided a platform for governmental bodies, enterprises from the private sector, and local companies to communicate, collaborate and exchange information and knowledge on recycling and waste management.
International experts and attendees took part in the conference, ensuring that the engagement and collaboration was innovative and global, and these were addressed by government officials, such as the director of the Ministry of Municipality’s Waste Recycling and Treatment Department, Hamad Jassim al-Bahr.
“Through this conference, the Ministry of Municipality aspires to develop the waste management system and raise awareness,” he said.
Suhail Industrial Holding Group is renowned for its state-of-the-art recycling facilities in Qatar, with extensive global expansion planned in the coming year, the statement noted.
The statement quoted the Suhail Industrial Holding Group chief executive as saying: “As Suhail’s capabilities in the industrial sectors grow and expand, our commitment to advancing our sustainability efforts will grow too. This commitment is a fundamental pillar in our vision and mission.”
