Qatar witnessed a 'giant full moon' on Tuesday, experiencing the related high tide with waves crashing above the barriers on Doha Corniche.
Tides are higher when the moon is full because of the gravitational pull from the moon and sun together on the earth.
Yesterday's super full moon appeared about 14% bigger and 30% more luminous than the usual full moon, said Dr Bashir Marzouk, astronomy expert at the Qatar Calendar House.
