Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani led a delegation during a high-level meeting with Moldova’s Prime Minister, Natalia Gavrilita, who is seeking Qatari investments in the Eastern European nation.
The meeting, held at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel Sunday, was held in the presence of Qatar Chamber second vice chairman Rashed bin Hamad al-Athba and Qatar Chamber board member Abdul-Rahman bin Abdul-Jalil al-Abdul-Ghani.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations in the commercial and economic fields and means to enhance them, as well as the investment climate and opportunities, as well as the role of the private sector in developing trade between both sides.
Gavrilita praised the strong relations between both countries, noting that she is looking forward to enhancing these relations to higher levels, especially in the commercial and investment aspects.
She invited Qatari businessmen to visit Moldova and learn about the opportunities galore in many sectors, especially in the sectors of agriculture, infrastructure, medical tourism, and tourism, among others.
Sheikh Khalifa lauded the good relations between Qatar and Moldova, noting that despite the relationship, “commercial relations are still below the aspirations of both friendly countries.”
He called on businessmen from both countries to benefit from these relations and work to elevate the level of co-operation, especially since there is a wide range of opportunities in both countries in various sectors.
Sheikh Khalifa expressed great interest to advance these relations in many areas, especially in economic and commercial spheres. He stressed that Qatar Chamber strongly supports cooperation between the business sectors of both countries.
“Qatari investors are interested to get acquainted with the opportunities available in Moldova,” he emphasised.
