QNB Group has signed a co-operation agreement with Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), which will enable the bank to promote its brand on Doha Metro’s trains and in three metro network stations.
The stations, namely Hamad International Airport, the Corniche and QNB Lusail, will be branded in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to be hosted by Qatar for the first time in the Middle East.
The agreement activates the bank’s participation as the Official Middle East and Africa Supporter of the FIFA World Cup 2022, and reflects its keenness to highlight its brand among those that will be displayed across key public facilities and various sectors such as public services, transport and logistics, in addition to projects related to hosting the World Cup.

The partnership will provide QNB with the opportunity to promote its banking brand, which is the most valuable in the Middle East and Africa region. It also confirms QNB’s leadership as a financial and banking institution that provides the most innovative services and products in the Qatari market and in other markets where it operates globally.
Heba al-Tamimi, general manager, QNB Group Communications said, "We are proud to sign this new agreement with Qatar Rail, which strengthens our ongoing partnership with this national company. We value Qatar Rail’s great role in achieving the construction boom in the country and hope this partnership will give us the opportunity to showcase our brand, which is the most valuable in the region, during this exceptional edition of the tournament.”
Ajlan Eid al-Enazi, chief (Strategy and Business Development) at Qatar Rail, said: “We are pleased to sign this agreement with QNB, which is an important and pivotal step for us, and we look forward to strengthening this partnership. Doha Metro has become a main attraction for citizens, residents and visitors, and it provides unique opportunities for local and international companies to promote their brands and services.”
He added: “This agreement comes within Qatar Rail’s strategy that aims to support national and international companies and brands to utilise available opportunities and spaces in our stations and trains by placing advertisements. Undoubtedly, this strategy plays an important role in providing high-quality services to passengers and visitors by contributing to the provision of additional fixed revenue sources not linked to the tariffs of using the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram, in order to support the diversification of the economy and stimulate business growth and development.
