
This came during the expanded meeting organized by the Ministry of Labor Tuesday for the Ministers of Labor and Heads of the Arab tripartite delegations, on the sidelines of their participation in the 110th Session of the International Labour Conference, currently being held in Geneva.
The meeting aimed at discussing topics related to the agenda of the 110th Session of the International Labour Conference, and unifying the positions of the International Labor Organization.

HE Al Marri called for this meeting as the State of Qatar is the coordinator of the Arab countries in the International Labor Organization.
HE Al Marri noted that the state of Qatar, as the coordinator of Arab countries to the International Labor Organization, will work to strengthen joint coordination and unify positions, indicating that numerous intensive meetings will be organized to increase consultation and discussion on labor market issues in Arab countries.
He stressed the need to intensify efforts to achieve economic recovery and promote decent work, to ensure a decent life and respect for Arab human rights. He pointed out that the harsh conditions experienced by the Palestinian workers require everyone to continue to ramp up pressure the Israeli occupation to uphold its obligations in accordance with international law.

During the meeting, Their Excellencies the Ministers reviewed ways to boost joint Arab action in the labor market, and utilize the successful experiences and expertise of the Arab countries, as well as discussing numerous issues of mutual interest that concern the Arab region, especially after Covid-19 pandemic crisis and its impacts on the global labor market.
They stressed the need to unify the position of Arab countries at the International Labor Organization, in the interest of all parties to the labor market in the Arab region. They also praised the importance of the continuous Arab coordination through intensifying the meetings during the upcoming period, confirming that the state of Qatar managed to develop a plethora of labor legislations and laws during the past years.
