Ooredoo has staged an online event on Web3.0 with its world-leading innovation partner Plug and Play. Attendees from across the globe were virtually present at the event, which took place recently via Zoom and attracted over 350 registrants.
The event featured industry global experts sharing insights into how 5G has been enabling Web 3.0 for individuals and corporates across the world. Discussions covered cutting-edge technology applications and Silicon Valley trends for IoT, MetaVerse, Smart Cities and Blockchain Decentralised Wireless Networks, among other topics.
In addition, Ooredoo had the opportunity to showcase its pioneering strength within the Web 3.0 space in the region through its broadcast of the latest Ooredoo Nation – Gamers’ Land tournament in the metaverse, complete with NFTs, or exclusive digital artworks.
Qatar’s telecom leader also impressed the audience with its ICT portfolio of solutions, and with the robust 5G and fibre infrastructure foundation in place ready to host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 later this year.
Attendees were also given the opportunity to understand the key role that Ooredoo plays in Qatar’s start-up ecosystem, being the first and main corporate in the country driving open innovation. Ooredoo explained its Open Innovation Framework, walking the audience through the outside-in approach – or bringing technology and solutions to Ooredoo by sourcing global start-ups - as well as the inside-out method, uncovering start-ups in Qatar by providing expertise and resources to the country.
Start-ups from different countries were able to get insights into the unique opportunities within Qatar as an enabler for their business, as well as looking at how Qatar will be transformed into the world’s first truly smart nation.
