Wellkins Medical Centre, LuLu Group and the Indian Doctors Club (IDC) are jointly conducting a blood donation drive on June 10 to mark World Blood Donor Day.
The event would be from 8am to 2pm at Wellkins Medical Centre, opposite The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa on Salwa Road.
The official announcement of the camp was made at LuLu Hypermarket D Ring Road in the presence of IDC president Dr Biju Gafoor, vice-president Dr Anwar Mohamed, joint secretary Dr Thomas David, cultural secretary Dr Riny Shoukath, LuLu Hypermarket D Ring Road Group general manager Krishnakumar, administration manager Rafi VS, marketing manager Mohamed Shihab, Wellkins Medical Centre chairman and managing director Dr Sameer Moopan, sales and marketing head Rejil Jacob, and media and community lead Vishnu Prasad KS.
“There is an increasing demand for donated blood, especially of the rare types. However, this demand would not be met without the help of the public,” said Dr Moopan. “Donating blood takes only a few minutes of our time but makes an immeasurable difference to those in need of it.”
“Residents can now register for this noble mission by sending a WhatsApp message ‘WELLKINS’ to +974 44442099 or tap the event rollup stands in LuLu Bin Mahmoud, D Ring Road and B Ring Road branches,” he added.
