With the aim of nurturing a culture of cybersecurity, the National Cyber Security Agency organised an awareness workshop for youths to raise their cyber awareness level and provide them with skills required for surfing the Internet safely.
The workshop was held in collaboration with the General Authority for Minors Affairs.
The initiative comes within the framework of developing and cultivating national cybersecurity capabilities.
It aimed to help minors secure their financial transactions, enhance their cyber capabilities, and develop their awareness of digital safety and security.
National Cyber Excellence Department director Dalal al-Aqeedi said that the National Cyber Security Agency spares no effort to address any request from social entities, ministries or educational institutions that deal with specific community groups and welcomes requests to provide training and workshops that nurture cyber safety.
She said: "The workshop focused on several pillars, the most important of which are malware, phishing, social engineering and how it penetrates human minds, safe browsing, social media and applications."
Iman al-Hamad, a researcher and specialist at the National Cyber Security Agency, explained that the workshop introduced the fundamentals of cybersecurity and provided awareness tips on how to protect personal data.
Students were briefed on the importance of cybersecurity at a national level and the need for collaborative efforts to secure the national cyberspace.
