As part of its continued efforts to enhance tax compliance, the General Tax Authority announced that it has taken action against a number of retail outlets found to be in violation of the Selective Tax Law, during monitoring campaigns aimed at curbing the trade of illegal tobacco products.
The Authority’s inspection teams seized and confiscated more than 5,000 boxes of tobacco products that did not comply with approved tax seal requirements and failed to meet the required specifications.
