The Ministry of the Interior, represented by the National Command Centre (NCC), won the Technical Achievement Award in the field of communications systems for operating rooms due to its development of the unified voice communication system from analogue to digital, in co-operation with Al Mannai Trading Company, representative of Austrian company Frequentis in Qatar.
The award was received by project leader Captain Abdullah al-Faihani, head of the Technical Support Department at the NCC, on the sidelines of the 14th edition of the International Exhibition of Homeland Security and Civil Defence (Milipol Qatar 2022).
NCC vice-president Brigadier Ali al-Mohannadi explained that the award is an appreciation for the achievement achieved in terms of keeping pace with the rapid digital development regarding the size of the system's absorptive capacity, and the extent to which it is possible to integrate several digital portals available in the country's infrastructure into one platform used in the centre from emergency service personnel (999), security departments, in addition to participating agencies such as the Medical Ambulance Service.
He pointed out that this system is the first digital system to be used in the Middle East for the management of security and safety of events, and it will be the basic system for managing the security and safety operations of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
