United Nurses of India-Qatar (Uniq), described as the first recognised Indian nurses forum in the GCC countries, celebrated the International Nurses Day on a grand scale recently in Doha. The event was attended by hundreds of nurses and their families.
The function was inaugurated by Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal. Hamad Medical Corporation's acting chief nursing officer Maram al-Mutawa was the chief guest at the event attended by Indian community leaders and nursing leaders from various health care facilities in Qatar.
Uniq working president Mini Benny welcomed the gathering. President Mini Siby delivered the presidential address. Working secretary Nizar Cheruvath and Indian Sports Centre president Dr Mohan Thomas offered felicitations. Vice president Luthfi Kalamban presented 'The Journey of Uniq.'
Uniq Nursing Excellence Awards for 17 Covid warriors were awarded by the Indian ambassador. Cultural performances, painting competition, music show, fun activities for kids and family get-together for members were among the activities.
