Loyola International School (LIS) organised the Investiture Ceremony for the current academic year. The school council system is a significant platform for the students to hone their leadership skills and goes beyond regular teaching and learning and promote holistic development.
Leadership titles and responsibilities were conferred to the students from grades 5 to 10, elected to different positions. The school ceremonially honoured the Students’ Council members, such as the head boy, head girl, disciple captains, sports captain, prefects, house captains, vice captains and the media team. The school has established four houses - Ruby, Diamond, Sapphire and Emerald - each of which represents different motto and values contributing to the overall school motto of Listen, Learn and Lead.
Indian Community Benevolent Forum president Vinod Nair was the chief guest. LIS director Sarat Koduru and principal Pramod Kumar Ranwaka were also present to encourage the students and confer the titles on the budding leaders.
The Students’ Council marched to the stage to wear their badges, sashes and hold the school and the house flags. The members pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the institution. Head boy and the head girl expressed their gratitude along with their vision for the school.
The event was organised under the supervision of the activity co-ordinator Sheeba Angela. Former head boy and head girl, Anirudra Dahal and Fatimath Sheza compered. Nandini (grade 9) proposed a vote of thanks and the programme concluded with the National Anthems of Qatar and India.
