The Ministry of Municipality will organise the 2nd Waste Management Conference and Exhibition 2022, on June 13-14, which will serve as a platform to attract governmental and semi-governmental institutions, the private sector and local factories to exchange knowledge on positive and effective waste management, treatment and recycling practices.
The ministry has launched the official website of conference, www.wmdoha.co. The website allows visitors to identify the conference and exhibition activities, facilitates registration and the actual attendance at this important event.
During a press conference held yesterday at the Sheraton Doha Hotel to announce details of the event, Director of Waste Management at the Ministry of Municipality, Eng. Hamad Jassim al-Bahar, said the conference comes in light of the increasing interest that Qatar attaches to the issue of waste treatment management as it is an important issue affecting public health.
The conference also seeks to unite efforts in this area to implement the sustainable strategic plan of the Ministry of Municipality, in accordance with Qatar's National Vision 2030, and in support of the ministry's 'Zero Waste' campaign launched in February, which will last for a year.
Al-Bahar said the Ministry of Municipality through this conference aims to further develop the waste management system, raise awareness, highlight the latest methods in waste management and the production of energy, and encourage societal efforts in the preservation of the environment.
The conference attracts various governmental and private sector institutions, as well as international and regional bodies to learn more on the latest technologies in the field of waste management, treatment and disposal.
The conference will host several workshops, seminars, lectures from local, regional, and international specialists in waste management and recycling.
A exhibition will also be organised in which many governmental and semi-governmental institutions in the field of waste management, as well as local, regional and international companies and factories specialising in the sector will participate. -QNA
