Through its participation, the CRA aims to showcase its latest and most advanced monitoring systems for the radio spectrum in Qatar. The booth shows one of
CRA’s Mobile Monitoring Station (MMS), which is part of its Automated Spectrum Monitoring System (ASMS).
The MMS is equipped with advanced equipment and tools and enables the CRA to monitor the radio spectrum up to 40 GHz, identify any harmful radio frequency interference that may negatively affect the quality of public or private telecommunication networks and locate the source of the interference with high efficiency, which supports CRA’s mandate related to ensuring the availability of high-quality radio services in Qatar.
The CRA also showcases its latest highly advanced and state-of-the-art integrated solution for the Automated Drone Detection System (DDS), which efficiently detects, identifies, classifies, locates and tracks variable types of radio-controlled drones and their remote controllers, for all available technologies of commercial drones. This system will enable the CRA to protect the radio spectrum from interference and unauthorised radio emissions arising from the operation of unlicensed radio-controlled drones, which can interrupt radio communication networks.
"Milipol Qatar 2022 is a good opportunity to engage with local and international specialists, experts, stakeholders and leaders in the field to exchange experiences and know more about the latest solutions, technologies and innovations, in addition to introducing them to the latest CRA’s systems and procedures followed to manage and monitor the radio spectrum, to ensure its optimal use and support homeland security continuously and during large events hosted by the country, such as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, where the CRA is one of the entities classified as a service provider for the event, being the responsible authority for managing, assigning, licensing and monitoring the use of the radio spectrum to ensure that stakeholders use and operate various radiocommunications stations in the manner as required without interruption as a result of radio interferences," the authority said in a statement.
