The 33rd edition of Tehran International Book Fair concluded with participation of the State of Qatar, which was the guest of honor this year.
A number of Qatari publishing houses, "Al-Watad House, Nabja, Rosa Publishing Houses, Qatar University Publishing House and Hamad Bin Khalifa University Publishing House" participated in the exhibition, which was launched on May 10.
Qatari publishing houses participated in the exhibition by displaying a number of various books that contribute to enriching the knowledge of readers and meet the aspirations of intellectuals in terms of new publications for the participating houses in various sciences of knowledge such as novels, law, social and human sciences and distinguished versions of children's and young people's books and others.
The participation of Qatar University Publishing House, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, included (27) titles from its scientific and academic publications. Among the most prominent of these is "Al Zubarah: Qatar's World Heritage City" book which was published by the house in cooperation with the Qatar Museums Authority. It witnessed a great turnout of researchers and those interested in the history and heritage of the region at the Doha International Book Fair 2022.
Among the most prominent titles is the book "Representations of Women in the Poetry of Sheikh Ali bin Saud bin Thani bin Qassim Al-Thani" by Professor of Literary Criticism at Qatar University, Dr. Maryam Al-Nuaimi which is a rich reference for observers of the contemporary Gulf and Arab poetic movement.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University Publishing House participated in Tehran Book Fair through the Ministry of Culture, and this is the first participation of the House in Tehran. It participated in about 50 publications of its publications in various types of knowledge, ranging from children's books, novels, references, academic books, etc. Participating books were selected from among the most recent publications and by well-known authors in the region and the world, and that won awards.
Rosa Publishing House presented a group of Qatari authors' publications on various topics. The external participation of Rosa Publishing House is of great importance for introducing the house as a Qatari publishing house, in addition to introducing readers and intellectuals from outside the State of Qatar to Qatari books and authors, marketing for them, obtaining external partnerships and cooperation in the field of translation to and from those countries, or translating the works issued by the House to other languages in the country participating in the book fairs.
The 33rd Tehran International Book Fair was held with participation of 170 foreign publishers from 32 countries.
