The Gambian embassy in Doha has launched its Walking Football Club at the Al Jazeera Academy grounds, aimed at promoting the sport in Qatar.
The event was attended by its patron, ambassador Foday Malang and Walking Football in Asia and Qatar president Farhan al-Sheikh al-Sayed. It was also participated by teams from Doha, Nigeria, Ghana, Srilanka, Kenya and El Salvador.



Walking Football concept is picking up momentum in Qatar with many communities lining up to launch their respective clubs to join the Walking Football journey. Walking Football is one of the fastest-growing sports concepts in the world focusing on age categories 30+ to 60+ for both men and women. It is a safe concept with fast walk, fast passes and non-contact to make sure the players are injury-free and can practice the sport on a regular basis.
