His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met Friday with German President Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the Presidential Palace of Bellevue in the capital, Berlin.
At the beginning of the meeting, the German president praised the Amir's visit, and the relations of the two countries, which are based on friendship, co-operation, mutual respect and common interests.





He expressed Germany's welcome of this visit, wishing His Highness and the accompanying delegation a good stay in Germany.
For his part, His Highness the Amir expressed his thanks and appreciation for the president's friendly feelings, which reflect the depth of friendship and exemplary relations that unite the two countries and peoples, expressing his satisfaction at the convergence of views between the two countries on issues of common interest.



In the same context, the Amir said that co-operation between the two countries will positively affect bilateral relations in all vital fields, pointing out that one of Qatar's priorities is to develop bilateral relations for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.
The Amir also expressed his thanks to the German president for the hospitality and good reception, wishing him good health and happiness, and his friendly country further progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, they reviewed the relations of co-operation between the two countries, and ways to develop and upgradeg them in various fields, in addition to discussing the overall current regional and international situation.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir, and from the German side, by a number of ministers.
The Amir and the president held a bilateral meeting prior to the talks, during which they discussed the prospects for Qatari-German co-operation and aspects of its development, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues of common interest.
