Qatar is participating in the meetings of the 75th session of the World Health Assembly, which will be held from May 22 to 28 in Geneva. HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari will chair the delegation of Qatar to the meetings. The assembly will hold its meeting under the slogan 'Health for Peace, Peace for Health', which is the first in-person health assembly since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The World Health Assembly is the highest decision-making body in the World Health Organization (WHO), and its meeting is attended by delegations from 194 member states and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board. During the World Health Assembly meeting, HE al-Kuwari and the delegation of Qatar will participate in the main sessions and contribute to decision-making on health goals and strategies that will guide countries' work in the field of public health, as well as the WHO Secretariat to push the world towards better health and well-being for all.
HE the Minister of Public Health and the Qatari delegation will also participate, on Sunday, before the opening session of the World Health Assembly, in the WHO event "Walk the Talk: Health For All Challenge" in Geneva, joining thousands of people from the local community in a 3km and 4.2km distance walk as the initiative aims to encourage people to be physically and mentally active to support their health.
