The State of Qatar participated in the 52nd meeting of the Technical Council of the GCC Standardisation Organisation, which was held on Thursday in Riyadh.
Qatar was represented in the meeting by chairperson of Qatar General Organisation for Standardisation and Metrology (QGOSM) Engineer Mohamed bin Saud al-Musallam.
The meeting discussed the memorandum of the Presidency of the Standardisation Organisation regarding the follow-up to the decisions of the 51 technical council meetings, the memoranda of the Presidency of the Commission regarding the adoption of standard specifications and Gulf technical regulations and their amendments, and the plans of the Gulf technical committees for the year 2022 (work programmes of the technical committees), and the unified report of the workflow of the Gulf technical committees.
The meeting also touched on the memorandum of the Presidency of the GCC Standardisation Organisation regarding technical work evidence, the report of the chairman of the Gulf Metrology Association for the period from October 2021 to March 2022, and the memorandum of the Presidency of the Standardisation Organisation regarding the outcomes of the 33rd meeting of the Gulf Committee for Conformity Assessment Scheme.
The meeting also dealt with a study to develop a platform for automating procedures related to the application of the unified Gulf standards, and the regulations and rules approved by the GCC, as well as developments in the activity of the Gulf laboratories assembly.
