With a vision of promoting the concept of global citizenship among students, Rajagiri Public School (RPS) is organising a series of online interactions with various schools across the five continents.
The interactions are aimed at creating awareness among the students, helping them understand the wider world and their place in it, which will motivate them to take an active role in their community, and work with others to make the planet more peaceful, sustainable and fairer.
The first interaction was with Sol Platjee Secondary School, South Africa. RPS student Nidhwa Niwas, a participant, said she was much impressed by the African philosophy of Ubuntu, presented by the students of Sol Platjee School. The RPS students are planning to illustrate the idea of Ubuntu and release it as a video.
RPS students presented the culture and tradition of Qatar. The power point presentation of different stadiums and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 mascot La’eeb was well appreciated by the students of Sol Platjee School.
Earlier, RPS principal Sanjeev Kumar delivered the inaugural address. Sol Platjee School principal Sindhu Mathews and RPS vice principal S Radhakrishnan felicitated the students. Madiha Fathima of grade 10 was the compere and the programme was co-ordinated by Vidya Anil and Rafeena K of the Social Science Department.
