The Doha Metro network is fully prepared to facilitate public movement during the temporary three-day closure of the Corniche Road from today in view of Eid festival being held in Corniche area as part of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
The 37 stations across the metro network serve key destinations around the city and the Corniche area such as the National Museum, Souq Waqif, Corniche, Al Bidda, West Bay and DECC stations.
Passengers can easily reach the seven stations at the Corniche using the network stations through its three lines. One convenient way to reach the metro network is to use any of the ‘park and ride’ facilities available for public at 12 stations across the Doha Metro network with around 12,000 parking spaces.

The Red Line Umm Ghuwailina station has a ‘park and ride’ facility with 2,500 parking spaces, Qatar University station has 3,800 parking spaces and Al Messila station on the Green Line has 4,000 parking spaces. These will allow public to park their cars and use the metro to reach their destination without worrying about traffic.
The metrolink services will continue to operate from 23 stations and metroexpress from eight stations during the road closure.
The Lusail Tram also operates through seven stations on the orange line in Lusail City, allowing an easy access to malls, various leisure destinations, gardens and parks, in addition to connecting to Hamad International Airport through the Doha metro.
Qatar Rail had earlier announced the extension the service hours of the metro, tram and accompanying services in response to the demand on services during Ramadan and the Eid Al-Fitr holiday and also introduce a daily travel pass for customers.
