The first day of Eid Al-Fitr in Qatar will be on Monday, May 2, 2022, the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has said. It was announced after the crescent wasn't sighted.
The announcement came after the committee met after sunset (Maghreb) prayer
Muslims in Qatar will mark the blessed occasion of Eid on Monday with fervour and festivities. More than 500 mosques and prayer grounds across Qatar will host the Eid al-Fitr prayer on Monday at 5.12am, the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has announced. The ministry has published the list of mosques and prayer grounds, which can be accessed at https://www.islam.gov.qa/PDF/Eid-Pray1443.pdf. Awqaf, in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality, earlier carried cleanliness drives at mosques and grounds in order to facilitate Eid prayers.
