The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) will organise the graduation ceremony for the sixth cohort of master's students on May 12 in the Sports and Events Complex at Qatar University. The total number of graduates for this year is 216, including 144 from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and 72 from the School of Economics, Administration, and Public Policies.
DI president Dr Abdul-Wahab al-Effendi congratulated the graduates who had reached the conclusion of an important stage of their lives and were preparing to start the next stage of their professional, academic, and research careers.
Student Affairs dean Dr Ibrahim Freihat, said: "Preparations are underway to put the final touches on the graduation ceremony of a new cohort in 18 master's programmes”.
DI celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of 101 students in 2017, followed by that of 157 in 2018, 161 in 2019, 153 in 2020 and 215 graduates in 2021.
Established in 2015, DI is an independent institution of higher education, offering internationally accredited postgraduate master's programmes in two schools: The School of Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Economics, Administration, and Public Policy.
At DI, Arabic is the primary language of study and research, and fluency in English is a requirement. The Institute also launched its PhD programme in November 2021.
