The Green Tent concluded its Ramadan campaign for this year with a poetry conference entitled “The Natural and Built Environment, Sources of Inspiration for Poets,” in which a number of poets and writers from different Arab countries participated with contributions and literary texts from various poetic schools, QNA reported from Doha.
The conference, which was held via video-conference technology, included some texts that were inspired by place and time, ideas, events, characters and artistic expressions, related to the environment, life and the various feelings of the human soul.
The Head of ‘A Flower Each Spring’ programme Dr Saif bin Ali al-Hajri, confirmed that the last night of the Green Tent this season was dedicated to poets and writers.
He pointed out that the writers and poets who participated in their creations enrich the intellectual and literary scene with many high-end vocabulary, meanings and images.
He explained that the Green Tent, since its first inception, represented a platform for scholars, experts and specialists to transfer their experiences, knowledge, sciences and initiatives to others, and that ‘A Flower Each Spring’ programme as an initiative launched by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser aimed at promoting active interaction with nature and inspiring scientists, intellectuals, thinkers, poets and writers of all ages.
Dr al-Hajri pointed out that organising the Green Tent through video-conference technology allowed communication with specialists and thinkers from different countries of the world, praising the role of all those in charge of this event. For their part, the poets, writers and artists participating in the conference also expressed their gratitude for the Green Tent and its efforts in supporting culture and literature, as it is an important window for communicating with the general public in various Arab countries.
