Qatar University (QU) has organised a ceremony to honour the students who won the Student Life Awards 2021-2022.
QU president Dr Hassan Rashid al-Derham, Student Affairs vice-president Dr Iman Mostafawi, Student Life and Services associate vice-president Dr Mohamed Diab, and a number of faculty members and administrators attended.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr al-Derham said: “The awards are a powerful motivator for people to pursue a path of hard work, diligence, and activity renewal, as well as an important educational model for future generations, instilling hope and increasing confidence in their abilities."
Dr Diab said: “In order to achieve Qatar University's vision of preparing distinguished graduates, the significance of these awards is in line with the university's developments and outputs, as well as an affirmation of the Student Affairs sector's role in enriching student life on campus.”
Graduate Nawaf al-Nayef, broadcaster of beIN Sport channels, said in a speech: "Qatar University was one of the components that influenced my personality.”
“Apart from the academic aspect, the university refined many things on several levels,” he said. “The officials at Qatar University were like parents to us, who were keen to enrich and refine the students’ personalities.”
The Student Life Awards for the year 2019-2020 were presented to:
* Mohamed Ahmed Idlebi and Sarah Al-Dali (Student Leadership Award)
* Moaz Omar Morsi, Aisha Rashid al-Marri, Dana Samir al-Qudsi, and Hanan Mohamed al-Kaldi (Student Clubs and Organisations Award)
* Noor Abdul Rahman al-Durham (Student Sports Award)
* Abdul Salam al-Samini, Maryam Abdullah Shehadeh, and Manar Ismail al-Kassar (Student Employment Award).

* Saleh Suleiman and Fatima al-Hamayda (Student Clubs and Organisations Award)

* Ahmed Jadallah and Maryam al-Bader (Student Contribution Award)
