Small traffic lights operated by solar energy should be installed at speed humps across the country to caution motorists and enhance safety, the Central Municipal Council (CMC) has recommended. The council urged the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) to study the possibility in this regard. It was also suggested that the private sector be engaged in the beautification and decoration of buildings and roads in co-ordination with the entities concerned ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In particular, more focus should be given to the buildings and roads that leads to the stadiums, where the World Cup matches will be held, the CMC urged.
