The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has completed the main upgrade works of Ibn Al Aghlab and Al Hada streets and opened them to traffic. This comes as part of the development works in Central Doha within the Construction of Foul Sewer Network for Inner Doha Project.
The development of the two streets will improve the traffic movement while reducing congestion in the area. The streets will also connect between two key roads - the C-Ring Road and the Airport Road - and serve several commercial establishments and facilities in the area.
The completed works included the development of 730m roads, installation of 39 new lighting poles and provision of around 150 car parks and pedestrian sidewalks. About 2km of sewage and storm water drainage network lines were constructed. These are in addition to the development of treated sewage effluent (TSE) lines and installation of house connections.
Works are currently being completed on eight streets in the Umm Ghuwailina area. The remaining infrastructure works include around 500m of TSE and Surface Water network, 36 Street light poles and around 4,000sqm of road works.
