Qatar Insurance Group - the leading insurer in Qatar and the Mena region - announced its sponsorship of the Samla race in its fifth edition in 2023.
The sponsorship agreement was signed by QIC Group CEO Salem al-Mannai and the Samla Race Organising Committee CEO Azzam al-Mannai.
“As the leading insurer in Qatar, we have a long-standing commitment to promote the culture of sports in Qatar. We aim to help build a generation characterised by good health by encouraging young people to adopt the culture of sports as a way of life,” said Salem al-Mannai.
“This sponsorship also demonstrates QIC Group’s relentless efforts in highlighting Qatar and our sporting events to the region,” he added.
The Samla Race Organising Committee CEO expressed his gratitude and conveyed the significance of QIC Group’s sponsorship to the success of the race and said: “This sponsorship will without a doubt, help ensure the continued and expected success of Samla 2023 like the previous editions. We are proud to have QIC Group onboard.”
The annual Samla race is organised in March each year where young Qataris with high athletic skills compete in covering a distance of about 200km for a period of three days across the country's desert.
