The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic, has launched an awareness event in Souq Waqif as part of its Ramadan and Driving Safely campaign, QNA reported.
The event, which is being held in co-operation with Dallah Driving Academy, aims to reach the largest possible number of segments of society, especially since Souq Waqif is a tourist attraction that attracts many families and visitors during the holy month. The event includes many activities, programmes and traffic competitions, including the virtual reality training platform, which is a room in which the visitor can drive the vehicle in a safe atmosphere and within specific standards that simulate the safety requirements that must be met when driving. This platform is one of the smartest driving test platforms and contain roads similar to those in Qatar.
The event will witness competitions for the visiting public that include questions about traffic rules, with the distribution of gifts and prizes, in addition to drawing and colouring activities for children.
The Traffic Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Traffic has called on the public to visit the exhibition, enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere, and participate in these events and activities that will continue until next Thursday.
