The Qatar Shooting & Archery Association (QSAS) said that all preparations were completed to host 2022 Nishan Vodafone Ramadan Tournament and accompanying festival of games under the patronage of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani at the Lusail Shooting Range till April 19.
At a press conference on Tuesday held at the QOC building, Abdulaziz Mohamed al-Tamimi, the tournament Director and Assistant Secretary General of Qatar Shooting & Archery Association, Sheikh Mohamed bin Salman al-Thani, the Head of technical committee, Ali Atiq Alabdulla, head of Media Relations and CSR of Vodafone Qatar (Tournament Official Partner) revealed the details of the event.
Al-Tamim said the tournament aims to discover the most talented shooters and archers and develop their skills, which is will help promote the sport in Qatar.
“This tournament will bring two categories together (Amateurs and professionals) from both genders to compete in the shotgun, rifle, pistol and archery. The registration process is well underway. The event is packed with surprises and will be different from previous three editions.” said al-Tamimi.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Salman al-Thani, Head of the Tournament’s technical committee delivered a brief note on the training sessions, competitions, regulations, participating teams and prize money which will exceed QR300000.
Ali Atiq Alabdulla, head of Media Relations and CSR of Vodafone Qatar said that Vodafone is committed to support sport activities, with the belief that it will play a crucial role in developing the society and enhancing cooperation and spirit of competitions.
Abdulaziz Mohammed al-Tamimi, the tournament Director thanked and appreciated the tangible efforts of contributors, supporters and sponsors that made this festival meaningful and successful.
