Qatar Charity (QC) has implemented the ‘Feed the Fasting’ project in many African countries, by distributing food parcels to poor families, persons with special needs, and families of orphans in Sudan, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana. The project is being implemented as part of QC’s ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive.
In Sudan, 3,760 food baskets have been distributed, with 5,600 more to be given during the rest of Ramadan. Some 40,000 people are expected to benefit from the project in the states of Khartoum, Gezira, the Nile River, Gedaref and Kassala in Sudan.
In Kenya, food baskets were distributed in 10 provinces of the country to benefit 1,755 needy families, aiming to help them meet their food needs in Ramadan. The families sponsored by QC received the largest share of the food baskets.
In South Africa, 1,000 food baskets were distributed, benefiting 5,000 poor families including the families of orphans, on the outskirts of Cape Town and the Western Cape province.
In Ghana, QC provided 8,750 packs of Iftar meals to several schools and mosques for ten consecutive days in the Ashanti Region.

The project was implemented in many regions of Albania where 1,400 families sponsored by QC received food baskets.
In Bangladesh, nearly 6,500 destitute families, including families of orphans and widows of 13 districts received foodstuffs this year.
In Palestine, QC continues to distribute food parcels to the sponsored families, aiming to benefit more than 60.
