The Qatar Mexico Football Cup 2022, organised by Qatar’s embassy to Mexico under the auspices of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), has concluded.
Teams from the embassies of Qatar, the US, Chile, the UK, El Salvador, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Belgium, the European Union, Peru and Canada, and Mexico’s office of the foreign secretary participated in the tournament.
The Romanian embassy team won first place in the championship, the Qatar embassy team came in second, and Mexico's foreign secretary team finished third after a two-month competition.
Qatar’s ambassador to Mexico Mohamed bin Jassim al-Kuwari said that the tournament is a vivid example of sports diplomacy in preparation for Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
He thanked the SC for its continuous support and efforts.
