Malabar Gold & Diamonds outlined the brand’s expansion plans in Malaysia, at a recently held business session in Qatar.
Santosh TV, regional head of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, represented the brand and held talks with the Malaysian delegation to Qatar at the engagement session in Doha.
The delegation included Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Prime Minister of Malaysia; Zamshari Shaharan, Malaysian ambassador to Qatar; and other officials.
The engagement session held with the business community was part of the Malaysian Prime Minister’s three-day visit to Qatar, aimed at boosting bilateral relations, identifying new areas of co-operation, and discussing the post-pandemic recovery efforts, the leading jeweller said in a statement.
"As part of increasing our investment in Malaysia, we will continue to further strengthen our retail presence in the region with the objective of delivering the best quality products and differentiated services to all our customers. We are sure that our expansion plan will provide employment opportunities for several locals in addition to skill training and specialisation in the gold and diamond industry," said MP Ahammed, chairman, Malabar Group.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds currently has six showrooms in Malaysia and nine in the Far East region.
"The political leadership shared their ideas and aspirations at the session, for creating an enhanced business environment. It was an absolute honour to represent the brand at the event and hold discussions with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, in terms of our aggressive expansion plans in the region," said Santosh TV.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds has a retail presence in Malaysia at Masjid India Kuala Lumpur, Mydin Subang, Ampang Point Shopping Centre – Selangoor, Seremban and Penang.
