The Qatar Export Development and Promotion Agency (Tasdeer), the export arm of Qatar Development Bank, has launched the second batch of its export accelerator programme "Go Global" to develop the capabilities of 15 exporting Qatari companies, enhance their openness to international markets and develop their export capabilities in global arena.
The step followed the success of the first batch of the programme and after a number of local companies reached international markets, such as the Qatari German Medical Devices Company, cWallet Services WLL, and Doha Cables.
Acting CEO of Qatar Development Bank Abdulrahman bin Hisham al-Suwaidi said that Qatar Export Development and Promotion Agency (Tasdeer) has sought since its inception to support Qatari exporters and promote their services and products, noting that the achievements of the "Go Global" programme are a direct result of the national export strategy in enabling Qatari companies to access global markets and increase their exports to the world.
For his part, executive director of Qatar Export Development and Promotion Agency Hamad Salem Mejegheer explained that the "Go Global" programme targets small and medium-sized companies in the industrial and service sectors and seeks to support exporters by training them to develop growth strategies, know and analyse target markets, and develop and complete export plans and identify available resources for expansion in global markets.
The first batch of the program saw the successful participation of 15 companies that benefited from more than 100 workshops and training courses, to be able to secure more than 300 export opportunities at a value of QR47.7mn.
Last year, Qatar Export Development and Promotion Agency (Tasdeer) helped over 200 Qatari companies to participate in 10 international exhibitions, more than 220 exporting companies to take part in 10 bilateral meetings, and more than 43 Qatari exporters to join the Alibaba online platform, which led the volume of exports of Tasdeer customers in 2021 to exceed 1bn Qatari riyals for the first time in the Agencys history.
