HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, met with a US delegation headed by former US Representative, Jane Harman, on the occasion of its visit to Qatar.
During the meeting, the officials reviewed Qatar – US relations and cooperation efforts, and ways of enhancing them, especially in the commercial, investment, and industrial fields, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues, including trade relations between the State of Qatar and other countries.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry welcomed the visiting American delegation, highlighting the importance of regular meetings to strengthen historic Qatar - US relations, and to enhance coordination and mutual cooperation in areas of common interest.
During the meeting, HE Sheikh Mohammed underscored the strength of the Qatari and American bond, as this year marks the 50th anniversary since diplomatic relations between the two countries have been established.
The State of Qatar continues to view the US as its first investment destination in several industries, including information and communications technology, real estate, construction, engineering, and financial services, HE Sheikh Mohammed pointed out.
He noted that financial, agricultural, health, and sports technology, as well as clean technology, e-commerce, and smart cities, contributed to supporting and stimulating economic diversification, sustainability, and digital transformation in the State of Qatar.
