The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported Wednesday, 131 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, and recorded 104 recoveries from the virus, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 358,574.
In a statement, the MoPH said that 129 of the new confirmed cases are in the community and two cases among travellers. It pointed out that 6,565,091 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination programme, adding that 13,211 doses have been administered in the past 24 hours.

The ministry further added that 1,404,952 booster doses have been administered so far, and explained that 88.6% of the total population are now fully vaccinated with two doses.
In its statement, the MoPH explained that there is clear evidence of the protective effects of the vaccines, with the majority of patients being admitted to ICU with Covid-19 being either unvaccinated or having had their second dose more than six months ago and those who have not received a booster dose.
It also noted that the latest evidence shows that the country has passed the peak of the third wave of the pandemic.
