Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex 2022) Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh al-Ansari said that participation in the 7th edition of Dimdex exceeded expectations and won the delegations’ praise.
In a statement on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, Brigadier al-Ansari pointed out that participation in this edition is the largest since the launch of Dimdex in 2008, with nearly 200 companies taking part, the vast majority of which are foreign, including leading international companies that were keen on active and strong participation and not just symbolic participation, which confirms the great confidence that these international companies have now attached to the exhibition, and that they see a positive return from this participation.
He pointed out that six defence ministers and 14 chiefs of staff from brotherly and friendly countries participated in the opening ceremony.
The total number of participating official delegations from defence ministers, chiefs of staff, and commanders of forces reached 85 delegations, which exceeds the volume of participation in similar international exhibitions and reflects the strength of relations that links Qatar with other countries.
Brigadier al-Ansari noted that the 7th Dimdex is distinguished with the large participation of Qatari companies, which reached 46 companies, most notably Barzan Holdings, which includes under its umbrella many other military companies, stressing that there are many deals and memoranda of understanding that will be signed in the three-day exhibition.
The Armed Forces are organising the seventh edition of Dimdex 2022 under the slogan: ‘The most prominent international event for the communication of security and defence professionals,’ over three days at the Qatar National Convention Center, with the participation of major international companies in the field of maritime security.
