The upcoming Build Your House Exhibition (BYH) 2022 is a platform that accelerates Qatar’s government work to support its citizens with the development of areas and lands, the event's organiser has said.
BYH Exhibition will be held from March 28 to 30 at Halls 8 and 9 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) between 10am and 10pm, said Rawad Sleem, co-founder and general manager of NeXTfairs for Exhibitions and Conferences.
“The most recent state budget amounted to QR74bn with projects to develop citizens’ lands receiving priority spending from these allocations. This year’s BYH Exhibition continues to fuel the growth of the real estate sector and strives to exceed the QR400mn worth of deals signed during the previous two editions of the exhibition,” Sleem said.
According to Sleem, major ministries, local stakeholders and dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony and ribbon-cutting of BYH 2022, which will be inaugurated by HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani.
Mohamed Ali al-Mohannadi, Public Relations and Communication manager at Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) said: “Build Your House Exhibition is one of the most important events supporting the national economy by creating a common space for various entities working in the field of building and construction uniting the efforts of government and private companies to serve the Qatari community.”
He added: “Kahramaa's participation in this year’s edition as Sustainability Partner is a prolongation of our fruitful engagement in the previous editions and a form of our constant support. Our slogan this year is ‘Secure Your House’.
“A team of experts and engineers from the Kahramaa will present modern ways to secure and protect the house by avoiding short circuits across all internal and external electrical installations. The team in the booth will also provide advice on inspecting the water installations to avoid any damages that might happen because of water leakage in the house.”
BYH Exhibition is considered as a crucial link between companies in residential design and building industry and Qatari citizens who wish to build or modernise their homes. Guests can visit over 150 exhibitors from five main sectors: consultants, contractors, suppliers, general services, and smart solutions.
They can also enjoy two large country pavilions from Turkey and Portugal, featuring exhibitors keen to introduce their high-quality products and services to Qatar and the Middle East market. These pavilions will showcase a wide range of high-quality building products and materials, such as aluminium, cable protection, hardwood flooring, suspended ceilings, and roof systems, along with award-winning furniture, upholstery, and home textiles from well-reputed brands.
Attendees can also collect crucial information from BYH Exhibition’s Knowledge Sharing Conference and Future and Smart Living Conference. Running over the course of the three-day event, the conference introduces practical insights and inspirational topics about design concepts, construction phases, licensing steps, implementation, and finishes, as well as smart technologies and sustainable living environment for building modern homes.
Visitors can look forward to talks by architects, interior designers, professors, and academics from Qatar University, VCUarts Qatar, Jotun, Bluu Design, We Do Design, Design House Interiors, Arab Engineering Bureau, and local government entities.
Seeking to nurture future design talent, BYH Exhibition 2022 will continue to host its annual Junior Design Competition in collaboration with VCUarts Qatar, in which 10 students will submit their design and three winners will be selected and receive their awards at the conference stage.
