Qatar Chamber general manager Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi recently met with the director general of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in the Middle East, Damian Lee, and deputy director, Jackson Wong.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Abu Nahya, the director of Public Relations at Qatar Chamber, and Nora al-Owlan, the director of Research and Studies. The meeting touched on enhancing co-operation ties between both sides and the investment climate and opportunities available in Qatar and Hong Kong.
Both sides agreed to hold a seminar on the investment environment in both countries and fields that offer investment opportunities in which Qatari businessmen can co-operate in with their counterparts from Hong Kong.
Al-Sharqi praised the economic and commercial relations between Qatar and Hong Kong, noting that trade volume amounted to QR1.25bn last year, registering an increase of 4% compared to 2020.
Lee called for the enhancement of co-operation ties with Qatar Chamber. He encouraged businessmen from both parties to forge commercial partnerships that would contribute to the development of trade exchange and the increase in mutual investments between both countries.
