The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) will mark the World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD), celebrated annually on March 15, by holding a public outreach event from Friday until March 20 at the Katara Corniche – in front of Mamig Restaurant - from 4pm to 9pm.
This event is one of the CRA’s initiatives in the field of telecom consumers’ protection in Qatar. Through this event, CRA aims to engage directly with consumers to raise awareness about their rights and obligations related to their use of telecom services.

The event will include awareness activities for adults and children. CRA’s specialised team will raise awareness about various topics related to telecom services like Internet safety for children, scam calls and messages, international roaming, terms and conditions, and credit limit.
During the event, consumers will know more about CRA’s complaint process and will be able to raise their inquiries and complaints about telecom services.
“Telecom consumers’ protection is not limited to WCRD. Besides the awareness-raising among consumers about their rights and obligations, CRA develops related regulations and monitors the Service Providers’ compliance and the quality of the telecom networks and services provided.
“CRA receives consumers’ complaints if the telecom Service Providers did not resolve them or if consumers are not satisfied with the provided resolution. I am pleased to invite consumers to join us in this outreach event to know more about their rights and obligations to make informed decisions when it comes to using telecom services,” Amel Salem al-Hanawi, director of Consumer Affairs Department, CRA, said in a press statement.
