The Executive Education Centre (EEC), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), is co-operating with the Qatar Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) to deliver an executive training programme for mid-level leaders from Qatar-based charitable institutions.
This leadership empowerment programme is part of efforts to meet the requirements of human resources development at the RACA.
It focuses on the required behaviours and skills for performing job tasks effectively in specialised roles.
The programme consists of four training modules – analytical thinking, planning and organisation, problem solving and decision-making skills, and creativity and innovation skills.
The second module was delivered at the HBKU on March 1-2.
Titled *Modern Skills in Management and Operational Planning, it aimed to develop the administrative skills of participants, particularly in the field of planning and operational management.
The course covered the following themes: peculiarity of planning for the public sector and non-profit sector, theory of change and effective operational planning, writing operational objectives, comprehensiveness of the operational plans, and modern management concepts.
The topics included agile and soft management, distinguished managerial skills in managing meetings, and managing teams and enabling them to make decisions and solve problems.
The training programme used experiential learning based on theoretical and established conceptual aspects combined with an applied practical aspect.
There were individual practical exercises, participatory interactive tasks, and challenges for groups.
Participants praised the training content and interactive methods, and expressed their appreciation to the EEC.
The EEC looks forward to completing the next modules of the training programme with the RACA and supporting the administrative and leadership skills of its mid-level leaders.
EEC executive director Aphrodite Hammad said: “We are thrilled with the positive outcome of this specialised programme and the great response we received from the participants.”
“This initiative demonstrates the social and corporate responsibility of our centre and its pursuits to provide useful forward-thinking programmes that hone the managerial and leadership skills of national talents and streamline the performance of local organisations,” she added.
