Leading retailer LuLu Hypermarket was honoured by HE the Minister of Municipality Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie and HE the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali al-Thani for their active participation as the gold sponsor, during the closing ceremony of the 9th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and the 3rd Qatar International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ).
Dr Mohamed Althaf, director of LuLu Group International received the memento and Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the Group at the event venue Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) on Monday.

HE Dr Abdullah al-Subaie had visited LuLu Hypermarket Pavilion at the AgriteQ 2022 and commended the new food security and sustainability initiatives implemented at the store level. He was also accompanied by Mohamed Ali al-Khouri, head of the Exhibition Organising Committee. Dr Althaf briefed them about the initiatives taken by LuLu towards food security and sustainability aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Lulu pavilion showcased its new initiatives of reverse vending machine and eco-friendly products thereby reassuring their commitment to achieve long term targets aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. They also showcased more than 50 private label products that are locally produced. Lulu strongly believes that a good retail intervention can help the public health outcomes by its new design built healthy food lines of below 100 K. Cal., Keto diet and Protein-rich products etc.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Dr Althaf said: “We are quite excited to become part of this internationally acclaimed exhibition. Our history and reputation are intimately linked to the support of local farmers and companies. We are permanently committed to buying from local producers and companies whose products meet our high-quality standards. We continue to help them make advancement in a big way by increasing our procurement of locally grown produce and food products. The LuLu pavilion was earlier inaugurated by Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal. Many dignitaries including the Armenian economy minister Vahan Kerobyan, and ambassadors of countries including Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Rwanda had visited the LuLu pavilion.
LuLu Group also made a presentation on the topic “Impact of climate change on food security – a regional perspective” in the QIAE Conference 2022 held on Sunday at DECC.
