The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Microsoft will inaugurate Tuesday, the first Digital Center of Excellence of its kind in Qatar, QNA reported.
The centre is scheduled to be inaugurated at a ceremony organised by the two sides under the patronage and presence of HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohamed bin Ali al-Mannai and the participation of elite representatives of the public and private sectors in Qatar.
The centre comes within the digital capacity building programme launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Microsoft with the aim of training various segments of society by 2025, and providing them with advanced cloud computing skills, in order to enable them to achieve their full capabilities and succeed in innovation, contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the country at the regional and global levels and in building a digitally advanced and sustainable future in Qatar.
The centre aims to enhance the digital skills of various groups of Qatari society, including students, professionals, programme developers, entrepreneurs, decision-makers and others, by providing a wide range of key digital skills that they need to innovate and succeed in their jobs, including cloud computing skills, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity and the Internet of Things.
The official launch of the digital capacity building programme and the opening of the Digital Center of Excellence comes before the launch of the new cloud data center area in Qatar, which will provide advanced cloud services for enterprises, in addition to data storage services locally, providing high levels of security protection, and compliance with global regulatory standards for enterprises and companies in Qatar.
